Mara Rosenbloom Quartet

Heard Mara Rosenbloom, an NYU graduate, pianist, arranger and composer, and her quartet again. I was a bit late for the show, since it was such an early one (7PM), so i missed about half of it… It was very nice, though, the house was pretty packed anyway. I heard the band last autumn in Korzo restaurant (with their tuesday music series curated by James Carney), Brooklyn. I really like the the overall kind of personal sound of the band and how they are so passionate about the music, this is totally what the New York music scene is about for me – this is what actually makes it worthwhile to go see all those shows.

And a great thing about Tutuma – they had some surprisingly good Margaritas for $5 (even though thse weren´t on the menu, you just had to know to ask for those…)
